THE Bulls have bolstered their options with the signing of former Hull FC trialist Eldon Myers on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old was offered the chance to join the Super League outfit but could not take it up because he was serving with the Royal Navy.

Now John Kear has snapped him up – and Myers comes straight into contention to feature against Widnes Vikings.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Eldon Myers on a two-year deal – meaning he will be a Bull until at least the end of the 2023 campaign!

“It feels good to finally be down here – it has been a long time coming and finally putting pen to paper and getting involved is great,” said Myers.

“I got contacted around December time about this season but unfortunately I couldn’t get signed off from work to come here but thankfully I am able to come down and catch the back end of the season.

“I cannot wait to get started, it will be nice to get out there and play some decent rugby. Going back to work after my trial at Hull – to play no rugby with COVID was a nightmare so to be getting back involved will be class.

“I like to be physical and playing open rugby – I like getting involved and if I can score tries I will, I used to be fast and hopefully it won’t take long for that to come back!”

Kear believes the Bulls have pulled off a real coup in tying down Myers.

He said: “Eldon has played a good standard of rugby union and I am really excited.

“I think he is a great athlete, tough, strong and will certainly add some strike to the three quarters.

“Eldon will do a great job and I think the fans will love him."
