BRANDON Pickersgill was taken to hospital with a serious-looking injury in the Bulls’ heavy defeat by leaders Toulouse.

The full back was stretchered off in the first half after the game was stopped for nearly 12 minutes.

Coach John Kear said: “We can’t tell you anything else until it’s all diagnosed but obviously it’s very concerning news.

“I feel so sorry for Pick. He’s been an ever present all year and played some really good stuff.

“It doesn’t look the best of injuries but we can’t say anything until we know for certain.”

Toulouse ran in 11 tries in a 60-6 romp at the Tetley’s Stadium to maintain their 100 per cent record with George Flanagan’s second-half score the only response.

Kear added: “We were put to the sword by a very good team. “They’ve given us a good hiding.

“Their one, six, seven and nine are Super League quality and they’ve ripped us apart. We’ve got to accept that.

“Our attitude and effort was okay but I thought our execution and defence just wasn’t good enough – we missed so many one-on-ones.

“We’ve had a poor week in general with Covid issues and doubts about players right up to the team run.

“But that’s not an excuse. We were beaten by a far superior team.

“We’ll dust ourselves and go forward for next week at Widnes.”

Elliot Kear will officially rejoin the Bulls from tomorrow and will be available.
