ABO Eisa could be out of City’s plans longer than expected.

Another scan on his groin injury has shown that the problem is more serious for the winger.

Derek Adams confirmed this afternoon that Eisa - who had been called up the Sudan national team - will be sidelined for more than first thought.

But he expects him to return before Lee Angol, who faces up to three months out with his injured hamstring.

Adams said: “We’re looking at a period of time for both of them – longer than we previously had hoped.

“I hope Abo will be shorter than Lee and Lee will be shorter than the three months.

“Abo went and had another scan and it developed that he’s going to be a bit longer but hopefully it won’t be as long as everybody thinks.

“But you just never know with these injuries how long it is going to take.

“Lee Angol started really well and then picked up his injury and so has Abo. But sometimes there is nothing you can do about it.

“It happens and you have to move on.”

Levi Sutton and Oscar Threlkeld came through fine after their first game back on Tuesday.

New signing Theo Robinson did not train while he underwent conditioning work with City’s medical team and is unlikely to be involved against Walsall on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Adams also revealed that youngsters Reece Staunton, Jorge Sikora and Kian Scales have been made available for loan to the National League to get some playing time.
