THOMAS Doyle has committed his future to the Bulls by signing a new one-year deal.

The highly-rated hooker has been a stand-out performer in the 2021 campaign with five tries from 16 appearances.

The 22-year-old academy product has gone from strength to strength to become a key part of John Kear’s plans since scoring a double on his debut against Rochdale two years ago.

And he insists there is no place he’d rather be than with his hometown club.

Doyle said: “I am really pleased to be staying. I spoke to John and told him I wanted to stay here and didn’t want to go to another club.

“With us having such a good crack at promotion this year, there’s definitely a chance and if not this year we will go again next year and we all have ambitions to take this club to Super League.

“A lot of my development is down to John, Mark (Dunning) and the lads in the camp. It’s been a team contribution and they’ve helped me along the way.

“The mood in the camp is quality now we have cemented our place in the play offs. The hard work we have put in in training is paying off and we know we can turn up on gameday and give it our all.

“Coming up through the academy ranks at Bradford there will be no bigger accomplishment for me than getting into Super League with them.

Kear believes Doyle has a big future in the game – and is delighted to get him tied down for another season.

“Tom is progressing really well as a player and has been great this year, having played 80 mins a lot of the time,” he said.

“He is maturing a lot as well and he is very comfortable within the club and the group.

“We put him back on the field at York at 13 and he showed his versatility. It is a really good signing that shows we are building for the future and there is more to come.”
