THE Bradford Ladies lost their third league match in a row on Wednesday away, defeated by a 3-1 scoreline against FC United of Manchester at Broadhurst park.

The women’s north division 1 team struggled to find their rhythm during the game due to repeated stops by the referee and the relentless attacks from the Mancunians.

Thing’s then took a turn for the worse around the 30-minute mark when United switched the ball to their captain and striker Kirsty Chambers only had Richards to beat.

She timed her shot and sent the ball straight to the bottom left corner, sending the United fans wild.

The Bantams tried to rally when Lambert and Beck sprinted towards goal, but Becks pass back to Lambert was just too strong and they lost the opportunity to profit with a goal.

Things once again got worse when United doubled their lead.

Victoria Thomas missed a vital pass, allowing United’s captain to snatch the ball and sprint to Bradford’s goal, she then found teammate Ella Hartley who smashed the ball into the net.

The first half finished with Coach Hames quickly ordering his team into the changing rooms after a disappointing first half.

Victoria Thomas had been subbed off for Sophie Hawkins at the break for City and the team’s system was also changed from 3-4-2-1 to 4-2-3-1.

Bradford seemed to go up a gear after the change in formation, however, FC United made another break for goal as skipper Chambers once again came storming down the left side and crossed it to Ella Hartley who was waiting to add the third. The game was dead and buried at this point but City to add a consolation goal.

Minute 88 saw City receive a free kick in a dangerous area around 25 yards from goal.

Roberts struck the ball over the wall, the keeper tried to claw it out but the ball went through her arms and into the back of the net, finally giving City something to cheer about.
