BRADFORD Bulls and Sheffield Eagles are in a tug-of-war about if and when their re-arranged Championship clash will be played.
The Bulls have proposed this Wednesday (August 18) as a date to the RFL for the clash at Odsal, which was postponed earlier this month due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Steel City side’s camp.
However, the Eagles have said that they will not play the Bulls match in midweek.
Eagles head coach Mark Aston told the Sheffield Star: "Nobody has ever seen anything like it [the 2021 season] and the players’ welfare is something we shouldn’t play lip service with.
"That’s why I’m adamant we won’t play these games because I wouldn’t risk putting players out three times a week. It’s crazy if you want to do that.”
The Bulls are also waiting to hear from the RFL if the season will be extended.
