BRADFORD (Park Avenue) drew their second pre-season game at the weekend, coming away with a goalless draw from their clash at Silsden.

Isaac Marriott cut inside and had an effort well saved early on, before Joe Mitchell shot wide for Silsden.

Omar Sanyang nearly opened the scoring for Avenue in the second half but was denied by Sammy Lee, before Mo Qasim curled just wide for Silsden.

Former Bradford City youngster Lewis Gardner hit the post after 65 minutes for Silsden, before Avenue teen Rob Guilfoyle had a couple of long-range efforts well stopped.

A good save from Avenue’s trialist keeper and a heroic block to deny Jack Normanton at least ensured the visitors did not lose.

Albert Ibrahimi netted twice for Thackley as they went into the break level at 2-2 against phoenix club Bury AFC.

But former Avenue striker Tom Greaves was on target twice for Bury as they emerged as 5-3 winners from a thrilling contest.

Albion Sports dominated their clash at Steeton, going 1-0 up just before the break, before romping to a 4-0 win at Marley.

Eccleshill United made a brilliant start in their home friendly with Farsley Celtic, with a trialist putting them in front in the opening two minutes.

But Farsley’s class told eventually, with the National League North side running out 4-1 winners.

Brighouse Town were in action too, sneaking past Penistone Church 1-0 thanks to a first-half winner from Laurence Sorhaindo.

Liversedge were due to be in action against Winterton Rangers, but that was sadly called off the day before.
