GEORGE Flanagan is braced for an 11-game job interview to stay at the Bulls.

Flanagan steps up his return from suspension with this weekend’s trip to struggling Oldham.

The hooker admits the stakes are just as high for himself now as the third-placed Bulls.

He said: “I’ve got to show my worth in the last 10-11 weeks and hopefully we can sit down together for a chat and see where it goes.

“I make no secret that I want to finish my career here. That’s the top and bottom of it.

“I love working with John (Kear) and Mark Dunning, they are great coaches, and the lads themselves. They aren’t only rugby mates but some of my best mates.

“I’m enjoying my time and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season and what pay cheque I get.”

Flanagan’s second-half appearance in last week’s win over Batley was his first Championship appearance for the Bulls since August 2019 because of two lengthy bans for "grabbing the testicles".

“They’ve shown that much faith in me in the past and I want to give it my all,” he added. “I love playing for this club and this set of players.

“They’ve been through adversity this year and some of the performances they have put in are outstanding.

“Everyone wants to knock us off our perch and Oldham are no different. We went there last year and really struggled.

“Maybe we went into that game thinking it was going to be easy but it never is in the Championship. Turn up with that mentality and you can get your bum smacked.”
