UKRAINE are hoping to cause an upset against England in their Euro 2020 clash this weekend, according to a Bradford Ukrainian Club chief.

The Legrams Lane-based club has been a hub for the community since 1948, with a few hundred Ukrainians living in Bradford.

It will be patriotic on Saturday as it screens the huge last eight clash between Ukraine and England.

Ukraine booked their quarter-final date with England in Rome on Saturday night with a dramatic winner in injury time of extra-time against Sweden last night.

Meanwhile, England ended 55 years of hurt with a 2-0 victory over Germany at Wembley earlier yesterday, thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane.

This has led to England fans starting to believe that football's coming home, as the tournament has opened up with teams including the Netherlands, France and reigning Euro champions Portugal already out.

Ewhen Chymera, Bradford Ukrainian Club director, was at Hampden Park to see Ukraine beat Sweden and expects a tough test next against England.

The club is expecting a great atmosphere on Saturday night for the crunch clash with the winners facing either Denmark or the Czech Republic in the semi-finals next week.

He said: "The whole of England is expecting a result. You never know in football what is going to happen.

"England are quietly effective at the moment. They have not conceded a goal so far and England go into the game as favourites, we're the underdogs.

"England are also most people's favourites going into this one.

England is not a game we would have wanted. It is the worst draw we could have had. England fans must be rubbing their hands at playing us

"We have not been playing well in the tournament so far. Everything we do is a bonus for us after getting through the group stage.

"Bradford has always been one of the biggest Ukrainian communities in the UK. The club has been at Legrams Lane for more than 30 years.

"Almost all of the tickets to watch the game at the club on Saturday have gone. My phone has been red hot since we got through to play England.

"The atmosphere at the game will be awesome. It will be brilliant.

"It was phenomenal to be at Hampden on Tuesday night and to see us win.

"People have been coming out of the woodwork during the tournament, wearing the blue and yellow shirts of Ukraine."

Mr Chymera also pointed out the danger men from the Ukraine team that England fans should be keeping an eye on.

He added: "Andriy Yarmolenko is the player that makes us tick. He can really make something out of nothing.

"Oleksandr Zinchenko had not had a good tournament, but he was phenomenal against Sweden on Tuesday. He really puts everything on the pitch."
