Mick Potter will drill into his players the need to go out on a high in the build up to Sunday’s final home game of the season against Crusaders.

On the back of three successive defeats against sides above them in the table, head coach Potter knows the fans expect results when they take on the bottom two.

When the teams emerge at Odsal it will be over a fortnight since the Bulls were thumped 60-12 at Super League leaders Wigan.

Potter said: “We’ve had a week not playing but have been training hard – probably harder than we normally would at this stage in the season if we had been in the semi-finals – because I think we need to and we want to try and win these last couple of games.”

After playing Crusaders, Bradford finish their campaign at Wakefield next Friday but, apart from effectively deciding which opponents suffer the dubious honour of collecting the ‘wooden spoon’, the Bulls have nothing but pride to play for.

Potter added: “The players have been fantastic and it hasn’t been a problem to motivate them. They understand that it’s not good enough to be where we are in the table and they are working very hard to rectify that.

“They know that more needs to be done and they are going out and giving the best account of themselves in training.

“I’d like the fans to leave the ground happy on Sunday and I’d like the players to leave the ground happy with their efforts.”
