Andy Lynch has refuted suggestions that fitness is a problem but admits there are other issues to be addressed by the Bulls players.

Mick Potter’s side have faded badly during second halves recently, conceding a cumulative 70 points after the break in their last two games against Hull KR and Wigan, while failing to trouble the scoreboard attendant themselves.

Speaking during yesterday’s open-to-the-public training session at Odsal, Bradford skipper Lynch stressed they were all answerable to each other as well as the fans for a poor run that has led to the side missing out on the play-offs for a third successive season.

The former Castleford and Great Britain prop said: “It’s been disappointing for everyone this season and the fans won’t see everything we do in one training session but it’s a good public relations exercise.

“They usually only get to see us on match day and this gives them a small insight into the work we do during the week.

“We do train hard and concentrate on a lot more than what the fans have seen here.

“Training at other clubs is pretty much the same and it all comes down to individual preparation and the skill factor.

“I think everyone has got to take responsibility for the way things have gone and a lot have got to take a look at themselves and what they’ve done at the end of the year.

“Every team has a different game-plan and we try to put together our own plan to combat that, but we have been coming up short.

“Everyone has their own job to do in the game-plan but it’s little errors defensively, like shooting out of the line and trying to put the fire out on your own rather than working together.

“We proved against Huddersfield (a 36-0 victory) and a few other teams that we can perform well.”

Meanwhile, injured hooker Heath L’Estrange is to see a specialist as continued inflammation in his damaged left knee is causing some concern.

L’Estrange was ruled out for the season in June with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament picked up in the 14-14 draw against St Helens.
