Bulls boss Mick Potter is confident his team are finally on the up.

Confidence has been bolstered by back-to-back Super League wins and a play-off spot is well within striking distance.

Hull FC’s defeat to city rivals Hull KR left Bradford level on points with the eighth-placed Airlie Birds ahead of this week’s meeting with St Helens.

And Potter believes new-found strength in adversity will be crucial to hopes of climbing the table further.

“The players are building a lot of confidence and I think we’re on the up,” said Potter.

“I don’t think we’ve made it and we’ve still got some work to do. There are some areas where it’s individual work and some areas where it’s more team-oriented.

“That toughness has always been there. They’ve just found a way to invest energy positively.

“In previous games their heads would drop a little bit when something went the wrong way for them.

“Their attitude to adversity has changed. That’s what you want everyone to have; a positive outlook after something goes wrong.

“Inevitably not everything goes right for you in games so you have to have that positive outlook to win.”
