The Bulls remain well on target for their ambitious goal of 10,000 season-ticket holders.

After launching the Pledge 10,000 scheme at half-time of last month’s Super League home game against Wakefield, the club have already received more than 6,200 promises from supporters to buy 2011 membership.

With 20 days remaining until the October 4 deadline, the Bulls need fans to sign up at a rate of around 180 per day. Up to yesterday, the daily average had exceeded 280.

If the 10,000 mark is reached, the Bulls will offer adult terrace membership at Grattan Stadium for just £60.

“We are very confident of reaching the target,” said chief executive Ryan Duckett.

“The response so far has been really pleasing and the feedback we’ve got from fans coming to the ground to pledge has been very good.

“It’s the first time we’ve done this scheme so we weren’t sure what kind of response we would get but they’ve been coming in at a really good rate.

“But we need people to keep spreading the word and anyone who hasn’t pledged to do it as soon as possible so we can hit that target.”

The £60 price applies to full season terrace membership, which includes entrance to all 13 regular-season Super League games as well as free entry to the Bulls’ Challenge Cup fourth-round tie and half-price entry to Millennium Magic.

Despite the large saving on this year’s prices, a significant proportion of 2010 members have still not signed up to the pledge – the figure believed to be somewhere around 2,000 – and Duckett has urged supporters to act quickly.

“We are calling on people to pledge as soon as possible because then we can release the prices ahead of the deadline,” he said.

“By pledging you don’t have to pay any money yet, it’s just a promise to buy membership when it is released.

“We also need people who have already pledged to keep on spreading the word and get their friends and family signed up.”

Duckett is also hoping Pledge 10,000 will help the club reconnect with fans who have stayed away from Odsal in recent years due to declining performances, this year’s tenth-place Super League finish causing average league attendance to fall to 8,434.

He said: “That’s one of the goals of the scheme. We are doing everything we can to address issues on the field and also make tickets more affordable for our entire fanbase.

“We have already made six signings to improve our team for next season and there will be another one or two announcements over the next couple of weeks that should raise hopes further.”
