The Bulls may be restricted to a watching brief during the Super League play-offs but incoming prop star Bryn Hargreaves has his eyes on the ultimate prize.

Snapped up on a two-year deal last week to become Bradford’s fourth signing for 2011, the 24-year-old still has significant unfinished business with current club St Helens.

A 30-20 victory against Castleford on Saturday secured Saints second spot in the league table and, crucially, a home draw in the first round of the post season.

The Merseysiders take on Warrington at Knowsley Road on Saturday, with Hargreaves keen to complete his collection of major domestic honours.

“A Grand Final win is the only thing that’s eluded me during my time at St Helens,” he said.

“I’ve won the Challenge Cup and the World Club Challenge but so far I’ve appeared in three Grand Finals and picked up three runners-up medals, so that’s one thing at the back of my mind.

“Hopefully I can complete the collection because it goes without saying that I want to sign off at St Helens on a high.”

Hargreaves is also targeting Grand Final glory at Bradford and is confident fortunes can be transformed under future Bulls boss Mick Potter, his current coach at Saints.

“The beauty about rugby is that you tend to think about things short-term,” he said. “I’m excited about my move to Bradford but at the moment, I’m fully focused on Saints.

“After that I can start thinking about picking up Grand Final winner’s medals with Bradford.

“Those things come in cycles and I believe it is Bradford’s time now and that we can bring success back to the club.”

Meanwhile, speculation is growing over the future of Matt Orford, with the Aussie scrum half appearing ever more unlikely to continue his career in Super League.

The 32-year-old only joined the Bulls from Manly last winter and missed much of last season due to a serious shoulder injury, returning home in June to undergo rehabilitation.

But Orford is rumoured to have held talks with both Canberra and Parramatta about a possible return to the NRL in 2011 despite having two years left on his current contract.

If he was to request an early release, Bradford would be unlikely to let him go without a fight and would almost certainly seek a transfer fee or compensation.
