Two-try Semi Tadulala today helped the Bulls end their four-match losing run with a nervy victory over Hull FC.

The Fijian winger came up with a couple of powerhouse finishes either side of the break as Steve McNamara’s side finally ended the rot and moved back up into Super League’s top six.

Bradford seemed in complete control after roaring into a 16-0 lead inside just 14 minutes as Andy Lynch, with his first of the season, Paul Sykes and Tadulala crossed, Iestyn Harris adding a conversion.

But Hull, missing eight injured players, were handed a lifeline by Michael Platt, who messed up trying to deal with a kick allowing Danny Broughton the touchdown.

The influential Terry Newton created another Bulls score for Shontayne Hape but the visitors replied again when Great Britain centre Kirk Yeaman squeezed in at the corner, Danny Tickle’s second conversion making it 20-12 at the break.

But Tadulala, with his 17th try in just 11 games, settled nerves soon after the restart and when Newton finished off Platt’s breaking run, they seemed home and dry.

However, brave Hull stunned Bradford with two tries in three minutes, Willie Manu and Yeaman striking and Tickle converting the latter to haul them back to 30-22 and causing panic in the Odsal ranks.

Despite some scares, they held on though and Matt Cook finally settled the matter, bundling over in the 73rd minute with Harris tagging on his fourth conversion.

It meant Bradford avoided suffering a fourth successive Super League defeat for the first time in Super League history and avenged the Carnegie Challenge Cup defeat here against Hull three weeks ago.
