Bulls youngster Kieran Hyde has suffered a double international disappointment.

The teenager was not in the 17 for the England Academy Under-17s' first match against the Australian Institute of Sport last Friday at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, which the tourists won 28-26.

And the Leeds-born 18-year-old found out tonight that he won't be playing in tomorrow night's second match either at Belle Vue (7.30).

Hyde explained: "Three of us were added to the initial squad, which raised our hopes, but I didn't get into the 17 for last weekend.

"The usual situation is that if you don't play in the first match you get a chance to play in the second.

"But I found out tonight that I wasn't playing at Belle Vue either.

"The coach didn't say much other than he was going with the squad that was most likely to win the match.

"It would have meant a lot to me to play as the match is in Wakefield, and I used to play for Stanley Rangers and Normanton Knights."

Nevertheless, the South Yorkshire youngster, who moved to Barnsley when he was one, has certainly enjoyed being in the England squad.

Hyde, who can also play at stand-off, said: "We are based at the Holiday Inn in Wakefield and last week at Warrington we signed some Mike Gregory books and some England shirts and had a tour of the stadium."

* The Bulls ticket office will be open on Saturday (9.30am-2pm) so supporters can purchase their season tickets ahead of the Early Bird deadline.

Season-ticket holders have until next Friday to confirm that they wish to renew their seat in the Tetley's Stand.

After that date, all seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
