Sam Burgess will put personal disappointment to one side tomorrow night as Great Britain bid for total Kiwi dominance.

The Bulls youngster sits out the final Test as the Lions aim to complete a series rout of New Zealand at Wigan.

Boss Tony Smith, already won over by Burgess' impact in the opening two contests, has opted to rest the rising star.

The decision initially left Super League's Young Player of the Year with mixed feelings but he said: "I understand the reasons behind it.

"Tony told me he'd been happy with my performances and this can only be for the best.

"I was very disappointed at the time; it would have been great to play in all three Tests and win another cap, especially with it being the last time Great Britain are around for a while. But I'll be putting my suit on instead and cheering the boys from the stand.

"Hopefully they can go on and win 3-0."

The towering prop concedes he couldn't have asked for much more from his first taste of international football.

"I'm delighted at how things have gone," admitted Burgess.

"It's all been a great experience that I never expected to happen so soon.

"Now I need to make sure I keep things going next season at Bradford, where hopefully we can get some success of our own."
