Steve McNamara knows battle-weary New Zealand are still capable of wrecking Great Britain's party.

The roaring Lions aim to celebrate their final fixture on home soil by completing a 3-0 clean sweep on Saturday night.

They are massive favourites to finish the job in style at Wigan, having humiliated the Kiwis 44-0 last weekend.

The battered tourists have been given no chance of turning things around but Great Britain assistant coach McNamara warned: "It can happen. We only have to be slightly off. We've seen it in Super League, where sides heavily defeated one week bounce back great the next.

"We're very, very aware that New Zealand could do that against us.

"They will be absolutely desperate to avoid a whitewash and have had some real criticism back home, especially having been nilled by Australia as well.

"The motivation is there to finish the English leg of their tour - don't forget they have a Test match in France - with a bang and they will be hungry."

The Bradford boss is wary of Shontayne Hape rising to the occasion, though the Bulls centre is a doubt with a wrist injury and has had x-rays today.

"We've not seen much of Shontayne (Hape) yet but I know how he can explode onto the scene at any time," McNamara added.

"New Zealand have some real world-class players and there are others who can do the same so there's no way we'll be easing back."

But, despite having already won the series, Tony Smith's impressive new Britain regime still have their own goals to achieve.

McNamara explained: "We've done well so far but it's the start of a long process.

"We haven't been as good or as consistent as we could have been over these last three weeks and we want to get some momentum.

"We don't just want to make it 3-0; we want to play well again and gain confidence while getting the public to gain confidence in what we're trying to do also.

"There's a long time between matches - there won't be another game until halfway through next year - and so it's very important that we do perform in this Test."
