Tame Tupou insists his rattled New Zealand team-mates can regain some honour and thwart Great Britain's bid for a 3-0 series thrashing.

The humiliated Kiwis - drubbed 44-0 last weekend - face only a second whitewash in more than half a century if they lose again at Wigan on Saturday.

The odds are stacked against them but Bulls star Tupou maintains they are capable of hitting back.

"We'll be taking the right option this week and putting some pride back in the Kiwi jersey," said the hard-running winger, who hopes to return from injury in the final Test.

"We can't change the past or the last couple of games but we can bring some pride back to ourselves and the New Zealand shirt.

"We've lost the series but we've still got one more game to go and we have to produce a performance."

He admits skipper Roy Asotasi has galvanised Gary Kemble's under-fire side, who had already suffered a 58-0 hammering against Australia before arriving in England.

"The captain has been a real leader," Tupou said.

"He called a players-only meeting after Saturday to tell us to forget what happened, get back on our feet and go out and do something about it.

"He's kept things positive. We know it will be hard to come back from a big loss like this but we won't give it up.

"I'm sure Great Britain will be looking for a whitewash but it's up to us to make them fight for that.

"All the boys have trained really well and now want to take it out on to the field."

Tupou missed the Hull horror after injuring knee ligaments in the first Test at Huddersfield.

"I was a bit worried originally but after the swelling went down I got a positive call from the doctor and have been back in training," he said.

"I'll find out later if I'm up to 100 per cent and selected but it feels good."
