BRADFORD boss John Kear insists his side are focused on their own results and controlling what they can do – believing there are twists and turns to come as the Betfred Championship season approaches its final furlong.

Kear’s side currently sit seventh in the second-tier ladder, five points off fifth place Featherstone Rovers in the final play-off position.

Sunday’s hosts Barrow are three points off safety as the regular season nears its conclusion but the Cumbrian outfit troubled second-placed York City Knights last weekend.

“Barrow played well against York – they carry aggressively, they have real pace on the wings and are a threat on their own ground and they will be desperate and we need to match their desperation,” said Kear.

“Games are running out for both of us for different reasons – we both have reasons to win and to play well and what we have to do is make sure we are ready to play.

“We have had a look at the Toronto game and we are delighted with the performance but disappointed the result and we are making forward steps all the time.

“There is not much that needs to go our way for those points dropped to be turned into wins and we will make sure we clean up what we need to clean up to get the points.

“All we can do is control what we can do which is pick up the results as we go along and put pressure on those above.

“The top five still have to play each other some weeks and you never know what twists and turns are around the corner – if we pick up wins that is all we can do.”
