BRADFORD Bulls Reserves ran in 11 tries to record an emphatic 64-14 victory at home to Halifax – with front-row star Keelan Foster grabbing a hat-trick of tries.

A fast start by the hosts saw Thomas Doyle scurry over early on before a brief response from the visitors.

Luke Littlewood, Ashley Gibson, Foster and Sam Hallas all went over for first-half efforts as Garreth Carvell’s side took a 30-4 half-time lead.

Bradford raced out of the starting blocks in the second half with Littlewood adding to his points tally prior to Bradley Ho and Liam Johnson scores.

Foster then grabbed a quickfire double before two Halifax tries preceded a late Jake Lightowler try.

Hallas, Joe Brown, Ross Peltier and Dalton Grant all featured under the watchful eye of first team head coach John Kear as they looked to prove their fitness ahead of the trip to Barrow this weekend.

Young hooker Doyle – in trademark fashion – took advantage of a quick play-the-ball to crash over from dummy half for the opening score.

Halifax responded with a slick move on the right edge before Littlewood’s dancing feet got him over for the first of his brace.

Gibson – playing at stand-off – took the ball in centre field, dummied to bamboozle the visiting defence and stormed through the resulting gap to touch down.

Having only been on the field a matter of minutes, Hallas then broke on halfway before putting on the afterburners to run the length of the field.

With seconds left before the half-time hooter, Peltier fed front-row partner Foster for his first try – the forward’s power too much to deal with for the Halifax defenders.

The second half began in the same vein as the first, with the wind firmly in Bradford sails as Littlewood darted over from close range for his second.

Ho then got in on the act when he crashed over despite the attention of two would-be defenders to the side of the uprights.

From the kick-off, David Foggin-Johnston collected the ball, stepped and broke 70 metres before being held up just short of the Halifax line – Johnson strolling in on the next play.

Peltier turned provider again for another rampaging Foster run next – the forward backing up his two tries with a third in similar fashion soon after.

Rhys Davies then grabbed a late brace for Halifax before Jon Magrin set Lightowler free on 40 metres for the final act of an impressive evening for the Bulls.
