JOE Keyes believes last weekend’s mini-break will see a re-energised Bradford Bulls prepare to tackle the threat of newly-crowned Betfred Championship leaders Toronto Wolfpack.

The half-back has played a crucial role since returning to the side following injury and was rewarded for his form by being named player of the month for July.

A first weekend off since January 6 has seen Keyes and co able to recharge and re-energise ahead of the final five games of the regular season.

And with the challenge of leaders Toronto lying in wait, Keyes believes the side can display their play-off credentials with a win tomorrow.

“We are three points off but all we can do is – while we still have a chance – keep winning and get ourselves in the mix,” said Keyes.

“We discussed how it is out of our hands so we can just go out and enjoy ourselves with a free rein and hopefully pick up a few wins and see what happens.

“The break has come at a good time to recharge and freshen up – as an athlete to get away and relax will stand us in good stead going forward against Toronto.

“We are looking forward to the challenge – it will be tough and these are the games you want to play in and we want to show a good representation of ourselves.

“If we want to set our sights on play-offs and promotion, beating teams like Toronto is what it will take but their record speaks for itself.

“We want to keep our strong home record going and we want to give the fans something to cheer about this weekend.”
