BRADFORD Bulls Women - including a selection of Under-19 trialists - ran in five tries to beat Leeds Rhinos' Women's academy side 24-4 at Odsal.

A Millie Taylor solo effort was all there was to show on the scoreboard from a tight first-half - with defences holding firm on both sides.

Taylor grabbed a second soon after the break before the Rhinos briefly responded.

Manina Spurr then went over against her former club before two further Bradford scores completed the derby win.

Chloe Wainwright-Morley made her return from injury to partner Taylor in the halves and it was the latter who troubled the scoreboard early on.

Following incessant Bradford pressure on the Leeds line, the ball was worked towards Taylor, who dummied and darted through the resulting gap.

The home side continued to assert their dominance on their West Yorkshire rivals but the visitors kept them at bay.

The second half began in the same vein as the first with Bradford scoring following a spell on the visitors' line.

Taylor matched her first-half feat with a 'dummy and dart' from 10 metres to extend the hosts' advantage.

Leeds hit back with a length of the field break to reduce the arrears but Bradford quickly re-established a ten-point lead.

The ball was worked out to the left edge, where Taylor's short ball put Spurr through a gap to touch down.

Beth Macmillan then scored her first try in the red, amber and black with a diving effort in the left corner.

Wainwright-Morley's kicking game was causing confusion in the Rhinos defence - with Becky Conlon profiting to touch down for the game's final score.
