LEIGH Beattie admits his Bulls youngsters face a huge test in the form of Wigan Warriors this afternoon – insisting his players "need to be on their mettle" to continue their impressive recent run.

A thrilling 30-30 draw with Huddersfield Giants preceded back-to-back wins against City of Hull Academy and Newcastle Thunder.

The trip to the Robin Park Arena sees the league leaders host Beattie’s players – the Warriors having only lost one game all season.

“I was really pleased with our efforts against Newcastle who are a really tough team,” said Beattie.

“The way the boys dug deep and defended for 75 minutes of the game was really pleasing.

“We scored some good tries with some good skill and execution and we will need similar levels.

“Wigan will be a huge test – they have only lost one game all season which tells you all you need to know about their quality.

“It is an exciting challenge, they put on a lot of points and do not concede many so it will be a huge test but an exciting one at that.

“We will need to be on our mettle, no two ways about it, but we have had a good week in training and are starting to build some consistency.”
