BULLS skipper Steve Crossley is likely to miss only his second game of the season.

Crossley is struggling with a chest injury from the win over Halifax which is set to rule him out of Sunday’s clash with Widnes at Odsal.

Coach John Kear confirmed: “Steve picked up a sternum injury and he’s looking highly doubtful.

“He hates missing games so for him not to get out there on Tuesday for our field session shows there is a problem.

“Steve puts his hand up in every situation to be involved. The fact he was in the physio room makes him a doubt.”

Crossley’s ever-present run was ended earlier this month when he fell victim to the bout of illness that swept through the camp prior to the Batley game.

His absence again this weekend will leave a big hole to fill in the pack.

Kear added: “We’ve got to accept that but it’s up to the other middle-unit players to stand up to that challenge.”

Winger David Foggin-Johnston's knee injury is not as serious as feared but will keep him out for six weeks.

The Bulls have been hampered with injuries. Kear said: "You can’t expect not to get bumps and bruises because of the collisions.”
