JY Hitchcox admits he is ready to and eager to make up for lost time – speaking of his intention to be a ‘big part’ of the side as the final 10 games of the season close in.

The winger suffered a shoulder injury in February’s Betfred Championship round-four clash with York City Knights and has spent four months on the sidelines.

Bradford’s number five has been named in John Kear’s 19-man squad for tomorrow’s Armed Forces Day battle with Halifax.

Ahead of his potential return, former Tiger Hitchcox believes the side will reap the rewards of an ‘honest’ team meeting on Sunday.

“The body is feeling good – it has just been under four months and I have never had a shoulder injury so it has been tricky,” said Hitchcox.

“I have done some heavy contact this week and done some full field sessions so I am feeling really good and ready to go.

“We needed some honesty after Leigh – we need to give ourselves the best chance of getting back into Super League.

“I feel we will be all the better for it, it is a cut-throat environment in sport and we need to get those standards back.

“10 games are left and hopefully I can finish the season strong – I like the pressure of coming back and I want to be a part of the big moments.

“If I can come back and make a difference and be a big part of the team moving forward I am happy.”

Meanwhile, the RLC Silver Stars Army Parachute Display Team will deliver the match ball to VIPS ahead of tomorrow's kick-off.

All members of the RLC Silver Stars are members of both the Regular Army and the Army Reserves who, when they are not completing parachute training and displays, have full-time jobs, be that military or civilian, and willingly assist with these events in their spare time.

All members of the Silver Stars remain available for their duties and, indeed, have served in a variety of Operational Theatres, including NI, The BALKANS, IRAQ, AFG to name but a few.

The team was founded in 1963 by the RASC and the RE Movement Controllers. The RCT was then formed in 1965 and, in 1975 we gained our name, the Silver Stars in honour of the Corps cap badge’s eight-pointed, silver star.

Following the formation of the RLC in 1993, the RCT Silver Stars and the RAOC Cannonballs amalgamated to become the RLC Parachute Display Team, the Silver Stars. The name was retained, with the RCT’s eight-pointed 'star' still forming the basis of the RLC cap badge and the Silver Stars’ insignia today.
