IT would be fair to say Bulls and Halifax have become very well acquainted with one another over the last six months.

The West Yorkshire rivals have faced off against each other in three different formats in four games; the Yorkshire Cup, Summer Bash and the Challenge.

The tale of the tape is even between the two rivals ahead of tomorrow's fifth instalment, with each of the four games so far proving tight affairs.

We take a look back at their encounters already this year.

JANUARY 6: BULLS 26 HALIFAX 16 (Yorkshire Cup first round)

Bulls kicked off 2019 in style with a superb opening round victory at Odsal.

Odsal got its first glimpse of Jake Webster, Rhys Evans and Matty Wildie in Bulls colours.

One of the game's highlights was Irish international Ethan Ryan going over another trademark dive in the corner from the pass by debutant teenage full-back Alix Stephenson.

Elliot Minchella was also among Bulls' try scorers on a day when Bulls fans, possibly prematurely, chanted “we’re on our way to the Super League”

It proved to be a cracking start for John Kear's men which led to Bulls being crowed Yorkshire Cup winners a fortnight later with a 14-12 victory over Batley Bulldogs

APRIL 19: HALIFAX 26 BULLS 33

It looked as if Bulls’ four-game winning streak was coming to an end at The Shay when Halifax led 26-12 with less than a quarter of the Good Friday game to go.

But this side showed plenty of character as tries from Elliot Minchella, Steve Crossley and Jake Webster plus another long range drop goal from Jordan Lilley, after a similar strike the previous weeks against Featherstone Rovers, turned the game on its head.

MAY 18: BULLS 14 HALIFAX 21 (Summer Bash)

'Fax got their revenge for the cup KO, with a seaside defeat of Bradford.

Just a week after Bulls' Challenge Cup upset victory over Leeds Rhinos, they failed to raise their game again at the Summer Bash played at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road.

Since the teams had met on Good Friday, Halifax head coach Richard Marshall had been replaced by player Simon Grix, resulting in an upturn in their fortunes ahead of this clash.

Winger David Foggin-Johnston was among Bulls' try scorers as his side crashed to defeat despite dominating large parts of the second period.

It wasn't quite the party atmosphere Bradford fans were expecting from their Saturday night in the Vegas of the North.

JUNE 2: BULLS 16 HALIFAX 20 (Challenge Cup quarter-final)

Bulls' rollercoaster ride of a run in the Coral Challenge Cup came to a crashing halt in the last eight in front of a large crowd at Odsal.

The tight contest, broadcast live on BBC Two, swung in bot side's favours.

After the match Kear was left to rue a broken leg sustained by key man Rowan Milnes.

In a dramatic and tense derby, it was 'Fax who earned their first Challenge Cup semi-final spot in 31 years.
