AMY Hardcastle is confident the Bulls Women’s side can continue their fine start to the season tomorrow – speaking after her try-scoring exploits for Yorkshire in their Origin victory over Lancashire.

The centre has enjoyed a prolific start to the season in the red, amber and black, scoring seven tries in her opening four appearances.

Going over for a trademark try in Yorkshire colours last week, the White Rose defeating their Lancashire counterparts 14-8 in a bruising encounter.

Now attention turns to Coral Challenge Cup second round action and a trip to tackle a ‘fit and strong’ RAF team awaits.

She said: “It was great to get the win, especially after losing the Origin game last year and we knew it was going to be a physical, fast and close game due to the talent they have.

“The game was very close but once we tightened up our defence was solid and that help us win the game.

“In attack we managed to get on top of the play the ball and put them on the back foot – it was great to get over and score for my county but it was a real team effort and was great to get the win.

“The test will be exciting, we know the RAF side will be fit and strong and will be really up for it – it is always nice to play a new team as you just focus on yourselves as a team.

“I think us as a team will carry on doing what we have been doing at the start of the season and fix a few things up that need to be fixed.

“Hopefully we can come away with the win, we have a strong team going down there and I believe in our ability and am confident we can do the job.”
