AFTER earning plaudits for their Coral Challenge Cup giant-killing, John Kear insists it is back to business as usual for his squad this weekend.

Bulls have earned rave reviews all of this week for their heroic and historic sixth round victory over Super League giants Leeds Rhinos on Saturday.

Kear revealed the players and coaching staff met up at Odsal on Monday to review the game and celebrate the victory but, after the players were given some time off, they are now fully focused on returning to league matters.

Now the experienced head coach is warning against any complacency or threat of 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' as they get back to the bread and butter of league action.

Bulls travel to Blackpool to face Halifax tomorrow night (8pm kick-off) at this year's Summer Bash. All 14 teams will play at the weekend-long annual spectacular in seven games over the two days.

It will also be the third-successive game Bulls have played live on television.

But Kear says it won't be a nice trip to the seaside for his men who must remain focused as they look to cement their place in the top half of the Championship table and look towards the play-offs.

He said: "The plaudits I take as a coach are when we succeed as a group.

"One of the best things for me is seeing them growing together as a group and becoming true mates.

"We said when we got to Wednesday we would then focus on the next couple of games in the league against Halifax and Featherstone.

"The plaudits do not really bother me. We deserved the attention after the Rhinos win and we had a little celebration dinner when we met up on Monday.

"We felt like we took a massive step forward to that.

"The win over Leeds proved publicly that there is still plenty of life left in Bradford Bulls. We are in the last eight of the Challenge Cup.

"It also proves publicly that we are on the up again."

The Wales coach also hopes the crowd of 10,258 at Odsal last weekend will attract many new, or stay-away, supporters to return to future Bulls games. He added the Rhinos upset will also be looked back on fondly by the Bulls faithful for many years to come.

Kear added he expects the Bulls faithful to be out in force at Bloomfield Road for the annual Championship showcase and has first-hand experience of seeing how much impact the fans can make.

He said: "I was fortunate enough to commentate on the Summer Bash for Sky Sports when I was at Batley. I knew then when I watched the Bulls game that it went up another level in terms of atmosphere and intensity."
