IT is safe to say Odsal has not proved a happy hunting ground for Leigh Centurions over the years.

John Duffy's side will be looking to end a 25-year hoodoo when they travel to Bradford tomorrow.

Indeed the last time Leigh defeated Bulls at Odsal was on March 13, 1994, when they grabbed a 24-14 victory in the Stones Bitter Championship.

Bulls are undefeated in their last four home games against Leigh, winning two and drawing the other two.

But Bulls have not had it all their own way over Leigh in recent times, as the Centurions finished 24-20 winners at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, on May 28, 2016.

If the past seems to be against them, then then present isn't too bad at all for Leigh.

Centurions have made a solid start to the season, storming up to fifth in the Championship table following last weekend's 46-6 win over Rochdale Hornets, their fourth victory from their opening seven games of the season.

Bulls will need to be wary of the threat of Danny Richardson's boot, as he scored seven out of eight attempts against Rochdale.

It was also a good day for former Bulls ace Gregg McNally, who scored his 150th career try last weekend. He scored five tries in 13 appearances during the Bulls' League One-promotion charge last year.

He tweeted: "Great to get my 150th career try today. I never thought I’d score any where near that many when I first started out as a skinny 17-year-old at Whitehaven. Very grateful to all I’ve played with whose helped me walk over the line. Here’s to another 150 hopefully."

Meanwhile, it will also be a poignant afternoon for both sides tomorrow following the death of Mick Murphy.

The 77-year-old made 166 appearances for Leigh before playing for Barrow and St Helens. He then joined Bradford Northern in the mid 1970s, where he made 73 appearances. During his Northern spell he also lined up for Wales at the 1975 World Cup.

Following his time with Bradford he played for Tonneins and St Jacques in France and for Wagga Wagga in Australia.

In 1978-79 he returned to England, playing nine games for Blackpool Borough and ended his career with a short spell at Dewsbury.

Like Bulls, Leigh will also be in Coral Challenge Cup fourth round action next weekend when they travel to fellow Championship side Sheffield Eagles.
