HEAD of Youth John Bastian has spoken of his delight after four Bulls starlets were named in England Youth’s National Performance squad for 2019.

Lewis Camden, Jacob Beety, Taylor Mail and Jake Judson were unveiled as part of the 68-man squad named by national head coach Danny Wilson.

The Bulls academy is renowned for producing players for the international stage and 2018 saw the likes of Rowan Milnes, Oliver Wilson and Matty Storton all make their England bow.

Bastian insists the talent coming through the ranks bodes well for the club’s future.

“I am delighted for the players and their families – it is a wonderful opportunity for them and I hope they grab it with both hands and represent the club to a good standard,” he said.

“The Bulls have always supplied young talent and we have terrific talent coming through the ranks that will benefit the club in years to come.

“Being in the Youth National Performance squad can lead to being part of the England set-up and it is a great opportunity for the lads to develop and contribute as people and players.

“We are really pleased with the four players who have been selected and feel like we can be pushing a few more across the course of the season.

“Lewis (Camden) is a good half-back, Taylor Mail has come from nowhere and is a really talented pivot. Jake Judson is another local lad and it shows there is some real talent there.

“Jacob Beety is a centre and their inclusion certainly shows we are in a really good place with youth development and I wish them the best.”
