OMARI Caro is hoping that a heart to heart after their Dewsbury Rams debacle can turn the Bulls' season around.

In the wake of Bradford's desperately disappointing 38-12 defeat at the Tetley's Stadium last Sunday, winger Caro admitted there were some harsh words spoken the following day.

"We had a review of the match on the Monday and a lot of the boys put their hands up and said 'I made a mistake' or 'I wasn't good enough'," said the Jamaican international.

"We knew that it was a must-win game for us, so not winning it has set us back a bit – but we had some harsh words and some home truths and we had Tuesday to reflect on our own performances."

The Bulls, who probably need ten wins from their last 14 matches to survive the drop to Kingstone Press League One, are at home to fourth-placed Featherstone Rovers tomorrow.

Caro admitted: "We owe a performance and we have been ripping it up in training this week.

"We have been working really hard on how Leigh (interim head coach Beattie) has wanted us to take on Featherstone and a lot of the lads are back fighting fit this week.

"We know that Fev are a good team and the last few times they have beaten us, so we know what quality they have got – but we owe our fans, the club and the city a big performance and we owe them a win.

"A win would change things massively as that minus two is a monkey on our backs at the moment. It is seven or eight weeks since we last won, so a win would be really good and we can kick on."

However, 26-year-old Caro has noticed the stark difference in the age and experience in the Bulls squad between 2015-16 and this season.

He said: "The previous times I played for the club, there were senior players everywhere, but this time we are patched together with loan players and dual-reg and young lads. The last six to eight months have been a slog-fest.

"When you look at the team on game-day, there are lads who are 18 or 19 years old and they haven't had to put up with this situation before in what is their first experience of professional sport.

"They have been playing week in, week out when they should have been eased in – but due to a lack of numbers, they have been exposed to the first team more than they would have been prepared for."

Centres Ross Oakes and James Mendeika (ankle injuries) and winger Johnny Campbell (back) have returned to the Bulls' 19-man squad this weekend.
