The Bulls are talking to all their out-of-contract players but chairman Peter Hood admits there will be some departures for 2008.

Ben Harris, Ian Henderson, Joe Vagana and Chris McKenna's contracts are up at the end of the season, while Marcus St Hilaire, Nathan McAvoy, Dave Halley and Craig Kopczak also become free agents.

The club will be keen to tie down hooker Henderson, who has put himself in the shop window with a series of eye-catching displays.

He is sure to attract rival offers while fellow Australian Harris has also stepped up his performance this season.

The centre had tempted Queensland Reds but their coach has since been sacked, scuppering any union deal, although his former NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs are believed to be interested in taking him back.

Vagana will be 33 when the season starts but has been in red-hot form, proving age is no barrier, and it would be no surprise to see the long-serving prop sign up again.

McKenna, 32, is also keen to stay but Hood admits it is unlikely everyone will be retained.

"It's very, very rare for a squad to remain completely unchanged and there's no reason why 2008 will be any different," he said.

"One of the changes is already happening mid-season with Lesley Vainikolo and Tame Tupou and we've already announced a major signing for next year - Jamie Langley.

"We're in negotiations with everyone else and want to keep our quality players but obviously there's the salary cap to think about."

Speculation the Bulls will sign Australian Test prop Petero Civoniceva from Brisbane Broncos is well off the mark, with the 31-year-old prop forward a target of rivals Hull.
