EPALAHAME Lauaki has warned he will take "no nonsense" from anyone as he prepares to force his way into Jimmy Lowes' plans.

The powerhouse prop has joined the Bulls from Manly Sea Eagles following stints with Wigan Warriors and Hull FC.

He landed in the UK on Thursday and dashed straight to Odsal for 'An Evening with the Bulls', where he was unveiled to supporters.

Weighing in at over 17st, Lauaki is keen to hit the ground running and prove his pedigree ahead of next Sunday's crunch Championship opener at Leigh.

"I have to tick all the boxes first, and it is up to Jimmy as to how I fit in, but first and foremost I am solely concentrating on training," he said.

"I am someone who I hope the players want to play with and lift the team up, be aggressive and take no nonsense from anyone. That is what I see myself doing.

"Odsal has always been a tough place to come. The fans here are great and I am looking forward to playing here with the fans behind me week in, week out.

"I am stoked to be pulling on the famous Bulls jersey. Tevita Vaikona, my cousin, played over here too.

"The challenge that comes with being relegated from Super League to help the club get back really appealed to me.

"I met all the boys yesterday and am excited to rub shoulders with them and get stuck in at training."

Lauaki had been delayed in joining up with the Bulls due to visa problems but, having finally made it, he is delighted to be part of Lowes' squad.

"It was a very long journey, pretty much all day and all night, and there was a three-hour stop in between," said Lauaki of his flight from Australia earlier this week.

"But I will get some rest and begin testing and training straight away."

Lowes reckons the Tonga-born front-rower will prove his worth at Odsal in the season ahead after signing a two-year deal.

"Epalahame is an explosive ball carrier, he is very aggressive and that will be crucial this year," said the Bulls coach.

"He has been in and around the game for a number of years and his experience will help what is a predominantly a young squad.

"He is determined to give it another go over here. He feels he has a point to prove and I am delighted he chose to do that with us.

"Epalahame believes Super League did not see the best of him during his time with Wigan and Hull. His determination to succeed is something worth admiring. It stood out to me prior to us securing his services.

"He is solid defensively and he is not afraid of fronting up when needed. He provides a big physical presence and I am hoping he will be explosive for us."
