Keith Lulia will be reunited with former Bulls coach Mick Potter next season after agreeing a two-year deal with NRL outfit Wests Tigers.

The Cook Islands centre recently announced his decision to return home to Australia at the end of the current campaign when his contract at Bradford expires.

Lulia’s wife recently gave birth to their first child and the 26-year-old had spoken of his desire to find a club in the NRL.

That has now materialised after Potter, who brought Lulia to Bradford from Newcastle Knights on a two-year deal at the start of last season, offered him a route back Down Under.

Potter has found life tough since taking the helm at Wests after an injury-hit campaign and his young squad currently lie 14th in the table.

But Lulia believes the ex-Bulls boss – Super League coach of the year in 2012 – will make the Tigers a force to be reckoned with next term.

Lulia said: “I got on with Mick really well last season and I’m excited to get back working with him again for the next couple of years.

“Wests struggled at the start of the season because of injuries and all their big guns were out.

“Now, however, they are starting to get players back and are winning a few games.

“Their young players are stepping up too. I watched them the other day and Tim Simona is a very good player on the wing. They have re-signed him for next year along with a few of their other best young players, so hopefully they’ll do well.

“I’m really happy with the deal and it’s worked out well for me with Mick and I sharing the same agent in Steve Gillis.

“But first and foremost I’m determined to finish the season strongly at Bradford.

“It was a great win on Friday against Hull FC and that has given the boys a lot of belief that we can make the play-offs leading up to the Wakefield game.

“I think we’ve got a really good chance.”

John Bateman (ankle) and Tom Olbison (knee) will be assessed today after picking up injuries in Friday’s win at the Provident Stadium.
