CITY legend Gary Jones will be making a comeback in claret and amber this weekend as he takes part in a charity match organised by Wilsden & Thornton Bantams.

Ex-captain Jones was part of Bradford's 'history-makers' in the 2012-13 season, reaching Wembley twice in three months as they finished runners-up in the League Cup before winning promotion from League Two in May.

The 40-year-old midfielder, still playing with National League outfit Southport, made 98 appearances for City, scoring eight goals.

Actor David Kennedy, who plays Dirk Savage in Hollyoaks, will also be taking part in the game to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK.

Sunday's match kicks off at 3pm at Dixons Allerton Academy, while there will also be five-a-side football plus an indoor bouncy castle and tuck shop on site.

After the match, sponsored by Latham Timber, there will be further fundraising activities taking place at the New Inn, Thornton.
