Alex Jones gives a thumbs up after the ankle operation
ALEX Jones has gone under the knife to repair his ankle.
The City striker has been sidelined for a fortnight since suffering the injury in training.
He had surgery today and afterwards tweeted: "Unfortunately had to have an operation on my ankle to sort it out once and for all.
"I will come back stronger than ever from this! Road to recovery starts now."
Jones has scored five goals this season - all in cup games.
