Rugby union has been successfully reintroduced at Parkside School in Cullingworth.
Aided by Leeds Carnegie players Luke Cole and James Doherty, the session was taken by RFU community coach Neil Spence and schools-club link coach Steve Welch from Keighley RUFC.
Spence’s colleague Dave Duxbury said: “About 20 Year Seven and Eight pupils attended the initial session and the following week 37 attended.
“Headmaster Andy Taylor is very keen on rugby union and has already sent two of his non-rugby PE staff on coaching courses. Sportivate funding is also being sought.”
