IT ISN'T every day that the seventh bowler used in a cup final bags five wickets.

But that is what happened in the Bradford Junior League's under-15s decider at Buttershaw St Paul's.

Liversedge were threatening to chase down the home side's 235-2 when Buttershaw skipper Simon McDermott threw the ball to Cameron Keenan.

He duly responded by taking 5-22 off six overs to leave Sedge short on 196-9.

The stylish Adam Wainwright (65) and Isaq Daud (26) had earlier put on 92 for Buttershaw's first wicket.

And although Wainwright also fell 17 runs later to the dangerous leg-spin of Alex Kennedy (8-1-22-2) , the momentum was continued by Bradley Harrison (65no) and McDermott (55no), who put on an unbroken 126 for the third wicket.

Liversedge were equally comfortable when they started their reply, Brandon Silverwood making a quickfire 32 before fellow opener Jacob Burnley (83) and Rishi Bhuskute (40) added 87 for the second wicket.

Buttershaw were making inroads slowly and were struggling to contain the visitors.

But the bowlers' strike rate was dramatically increased when Keenan got the ball in his hands and Liversedge subsided from 167-2 before they were eventually becalmed 39 runs short.
