Great Horton Church recorded a comprehensive victory in the final of the Gordon Bowers under-nines competition against Karmand Centre.
The final took place at Undercliffe CC and saw Great Horton Church begin the match as favourites as they were the older and more experienced team.
It was Karmand Centre’s first year in the competition but they gave a good account of themselves.
GHC batted first and in their 20 overs scored 318 for the loss of six wickets – the score starting at 200, with runs added as scored and five being deducted each time a wicket falls.
Captain Imran Abbas top-scored with 21, while Mohammed Rohan made 19.
In Karmand’s reply of 268-6, Zain Shaffique top-scored with 19.
Result: Great Horton Church 318-6, Karmand Centre 268-6.
