Both Year Seven boys' finalists in the Bradford and Keighley stage of the Carnegie Champion Schools' Rugby League Tournament came from the same group.
Hanson won all three of their matches in Group Two, defeating Queensbury 8-4, Settle 8-0 and Oakbank 16-0.
But fellow qualifiers Queensbury only won one match out of three, beating Oakbank 12-8 but going down 8-4 to Settle.
However, the latter were only competing as guests and therefore couldn't qualify, thus allowing Queensbury into the last four.
There they beat Buttershaw 8-0 before losing the final 4-0 to Hanson, who had defeated Thornton 8-0 in the other semi-final. Thornton beat Buttershaw 4-0 in the third and fourth place play-off but both sides had already qualified for the next stage.
