FOUR of West Yorkshire's teams won their categories in the Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Sportshall Athletics Festival in Hull.

The boys' under-11s pipped West Yorkshire by 16 points to win their section (492 v 476) – but the under-13 boys were convincing winners, while the under-15 girls and under-15 boys also triumphed.

Under-11 boys' relay victories came in the over-under, one plus one lap and grand prix, while individual winners included George Hahn (standing long jump), Jack Ezard (balance test), Sam Bentley (target throw), Miles Labastide (speed bounce) and Travis Floyd (vertical jump).

North Yorkshire got their revenge in the under-11 girls, where the over-under and grand prix relays also produced victories for West Yorkshire, while Sateva Raymond won the chest push.

There was more than glory at stake at under-13s and under-15s – such as qualification for the UK finals at Sport City in Manchester on the weekend of April 25-26 – and West Yorkshire's under-13 boys, under-15 boys and under-15 girls did not disappoint.

Individual winners for the under-13 boys, who saw off North Yorkshire, were Damian Flathers (two-lap race), Benjamin Adeniji (standing triple jump), Branden Lewis Sykes (four-lap race), Eddie Martin (speed bounce) and Keenan Lee (shot put), while there were victories in the obstacle, four by one and four by two relays.

Equally commanding were West Yorkshire's under-15 girls, who ended up 36 points ahead of North Yorkshire.

Anna Dickie was the overall under-15 individual champion, followed by team-mates Rachel Crorken (second), Roisin Ramage and Lucy Tattersfield (joint-third).

Dickie was top of the podium in the standing long jump and the four-lap race, Crorken won the speed bounce, Ramage the shot put and Tattersfield the vertical jump.

The under-15 boys, who beat North Yorkshire by a whopping 76 points, were also dominant in the individual standings, with Tariq Said and Alex Molyneux joint-first and Toby Adeniji third.

Said was first in the two-lap race and shot put, Molyneux in the standing long jump and four-lap race and Adeniji in the standing triple jump.

The under-13 girls were beaten by North Yorkshire by 38 points but there were individual wins for Lucy Wilding (standing long jump), Frances Parker (standing triple jump) and Bethany Casson (shot put), plus a team victory in the obstacle relay.
