Wibsey Lions are celebrating a landmark debut season.
After their under-tens A and B teams finished a creditable fifth and fourth respectively in their leagues, their under-14s clinched promotion to Division One of the Huddersfield RCD Junior League.
After a very succesful presentation night, where all the players received an award, the under-14s finished second at the Clifton Gala, the under-tens A and B both finished third at the Gomersal & Cleckheaton Gala.
The under-tens also thrashed cup winners Batley 7-2 in a nine v nine friendly last week, the under-14s drew 3-3 with the Wibsey Dads and then won 7-6 on penalties in a charity match.
And to top it all the under-tens A were pipped at the post when they lost out to Drighlington on penalties in the Group One final at the Batley Gala, finishing second overall.
However, the under-tens B brought home some silverware after winning the Group Three final. Both teams finished unbeaten, with the B team winning every game.
