Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley stunned youngsters when he turned up to hand out the trophies at Braford Park Avenue Juniors’ end-of-season football awards.
Cleverley was invited to Goals football centre in Eccleshill by Park Avenue coach Ian Frazer.
The former Bantams youth team player, who has family connections in Idle, presented trophies at the event on Sunday.
Mike Frazer, grandad of James and Dan Frazer, who are BPA Junior team players, said: “What a great ambassador Tom is for his club and it was great to see a Premier League player providing his time free of charge and giving something back to the football community at grass roots level.
“The kids and all of us were delighted.”
