Over 100 teams enjoyed the weekend sunshine in the ninth annual Keighley Shamrocks junior tournament at Marley Sports Centre.

Assorted age groups competed in a series of six-a-side fixtures over two days, with Asda Keighley sponsoring the competitive but friendly event and providing fruit and water to keep the young players hydrated.

Shamrocks secretary Donna Palmer said: “The tournament has been running for nine years now and it’s a great event to help raise the club’s profile.

“This is the second year that Asda have sponsored the tournament and we’re extremely grateful for their support.”

General store manager Karl Brown added: “It’s a pleasure to support an event like the Keighley Shamrocks tournament as it’s a great local event which brings children of all ages and the local community together.

“Asda Keighley are committed to healthy eating and promoting active lifestyles in the area and that’s why the sponsorship of this fantastic event is very important to us.”
