PARK Avenue B Whites, who have been struggling for numbers recently, could only field ten players at Hade Edge B.

But they gave themselves a pre-Christmas boost with a 5-0 victory in their Huddersfield RCD Junior League Under-14 Division 5A & 5B clash.

After four weeks of postponed games, ninth-placed Avenue were greeted by cold and windy weather but led 2-0 at half-time as Blaine Rowe provided assists for Conner Harris after ten minutes and Danny Gledhill in the 12th.

Sixth-placed Hade Edge were quicker out of the blocks at the start of the second half but Avenue's back four of Enrique Escoffery, Tom Mayhew, Robbie Heath and Leyton Williams ensured that Tom Sowden kept a clean sheet.

Rowe's good run and cross down the left wing resulted in an own goal on 41 minutes, before the influential Rowe then got a deserved goal when he neatly slotted home Omar Anjum's driven cross.

Right midfielder Oliver Hallett went close on 50 minutes but the fifth and final goal came five minutes later when Anjum's corner was smashed home by Escoffery.
