HAVING had their players confused in the past by facing opposition who also played in yellow and blue, Albion Sports under-nines were taking no chances when they faced Horsforth in the Bradford & Calderdale Keybury Junior League.

Albion were sporting orange bibs over their new kit for the clash on a large 3G pitch at Leeds Trinity University – and were in the pink as they won 10-3, despite it being a competitive encounter.

Goals for the visitors came from man of the match Muhammad Murtaza (4), Muhammad Mustafa (2) – making it 11 in three matches – Shubham Rana (2), Aarian Sarai and Abdul Ghafoor.

Yet Albion had needed to come from behind, skipper Mustafa scoring an excellent equaliser before Rana put them ahead with a powerful left-foot shot.

On the front foot, the visitors did not look back, Mustafa bagging another beauty before midfielder Murtaza, normally a defender, took over, although Mustafa was on hand with some assists.

Kyran Pogson, Albion's keeper, and defender Bobby Jo Metcalf also played well.

Last season's under-11 champions Dudley Hill Rangers faced their toughest test of the season so far at 2014-15 Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Division One champions Horsforth St Margarets Stallions.

Trailing to a penalty, talisman Karlson Ogie diverted a Jake Softley shot to equalise for Rangers, only for a pea-roller to put them 2-1 behind.

However, inspired by man of the match Spencer Dunk, Dudley Hill went on to win 5-2 as Ogie added three more goals and Anton Tavernier also netted.

Oliver Driver shaded Lewis Windle as man of the match for Rangers under-eight Reds, who beat Halifax side St Columbas 5-3 with goals from Oliver Wilson (2), Charlie Gadsby (2) and Tyler Seagar.

Easy-on-the-eye Sutton Rascals won 2-0 at Bolton Woods Sabres in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League Under-14 Division A.

It would have been worse were it not for Alex Gibson saving a goal-bound shot with his face, while the visitors also hit the bar and forced Ben Shuttlewood into a great save.

Theo Cokewright came closest to a goal for Sabres, Sutton's keeper back-pedalling to tip his beautifully-flighted chip over the bar at full stretch.

BD5 triumphed 5-3 at Oakworth in Division 12B, despite going behind and having a 3-1 lead wiped out.

Murad Khan (2) and Liridon Emini, who tapped in a rebound, put BD5 3-1 ahead, Gauderic Totap's late brace sealing it for the visitors.

Josh Willsher was the hero for Eccleshill Blues Junior Eagles in their 6-2 home defeat to Bingley Ajax in Under-13 Division A, saving a penalty and generally performing superbly to keep the score down.

Thackley Reds won their derby 5-2 against Thackley Lightning to stay top of Under-18 Division B. Goals came from Jessie Jaff (2), captain Jack I'Anson, Connor Raistrick and man of the match Callum Churm.

The Reds are seeking defensive and midfield players to swell their ranks. Anyone interested should contact Mark Holstead on 01274-634522 or 07875-588941. Training is on Saturdays at Apperley Bridge Playing Fields (10.30am-noon).

In the Huddersfield RCD Junior League, Bradford Park Avenue gave visitors Northowram too much respect in Under-13 Division Two and lost 4-1, Ellis Joseph netting the consolation and Louis Randle being man of the match.

In Division 5A and 5B, Avenue's B team lost 5-2 at Cleckheaton B, Ellis Martin and Nathan Horner being on target for the losers as Harvey Moriarty and Bradley Whyatt shared the man of the match award.

Bradford Warriors under-eights converted their good football into goals in a 5-2 triumph at Dewsbury Rangers, with Alfie Gibson (3), Harry Coup and Shy Moulding on target, while Harley Hill-Hands was man of the match.

Meanwhile, Warriors Whites won 13-0 at Dewsbury Rangers B, Adam Turner (4), man of the match Declan Puddicombe (3), Asher Smith (2), Junior Bottomley, Lleyton Wright, Tommy Swain and Jake Lowe netting.

Warriors under-nines levelled at 7-7 but lost out 11-7 to Leeds, Jack Stokes (2), Alfie Smith (2), Summer Hughes, Joshua Stone and man of the match Harry Grievson scoring.

But there were no worries for the under-tens, who beat Northowram 4-1 on the back of a hat-trick from man of the match Coby Crowther (3) and a single by Logan King.

Teamwork was much in evidence as Warriors under-14s despatched Drighlington B 14-1, with the marksmen being man of the match Roberto McFarlane (5), Harvey Oddy (4), Ben Green, Adam Worby, Brandon McDonagh, James Nyallay and Dominik Dygasiewicz.

Shetcliffe Rangers under-tens netted within 13 seconds of their friendly at Crossley Swifts kicking off on the way to a 13-1 victory, the marksmen being Jack Mahon (4), man of the match Donrique Davis (3), Maison Strangeway (3), Lewis Thomas, Lewis Hague and Jake Fallon.

The B team triumphed 5-0 at Calverley B thanks to Ben Mackrill, Godwin Mudibu, Riley Wilson, Ben Gale and Ewan Renton, with Godwin Mudibu taking the gong.
