CHELSEA, Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool aren’t the only English teams to have been in Champions League or Europa League action this week.

Several clubs in the Bradford and Halifax areas have had their own ‘European’ games now that the best teams from the BRADFORD & DISTRICT KEYBURY LEAGUE and CALDERDALE LEAGUE are facing each other in late-season action.

For example, Albion Sports made the trip to Crossley Juniors for an under-eights clash and came away 10-1 winners.

The visitors, despite the fog, were dominant from start to finish on a muddy pitch, with man of the match Muhammad Mustafa scoring six to take his tally to 56 in 15 matches, Shubham Rana (3) and Muhammad Murtaza also scoring, while Mustafa also hit the bar more than once and had some assists.

At under-11 level, Sutton stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3 at AFC Halifax in Group A, while Albion Sports defeated Calderdale top dogs Todmorden Sports Tigers 3-2.

Meanwhile, Bradford champions Ilkley beat Todmorden’s sister team 3-1 on home soil in Group B, where Dudley Hill Rangers defeated King Cross Greens 4-0.

It was Rangers’ first game since December 7, so they were understandably rusty, with only a scrambled Rhys Hadley goal to show at half-time before Karlson Ogie bagged a hat-trick in the second period.

In the Under-11s Europa League, Campion were left without a game due to uncertainty about Boothtown, but Rawdon Rangers did the Keybury League proud, despite only having a slender 1-0 half-time against Beacon Rangers in Group B.

Harsh words from coach Richard Stenhouse rallied the Leeds side well and they won 6-2, with goals from Jack Bolton (3), Jude Corban (2) and Louis Van Allen (penalty).

Dudley Hill Rangers under-tens suffered through players leaving early for Bradford City’s FA Cup tie. They were leading 4-1 at home to Crossleys but went on to lose 6-4.

In a pulsating CRAVEN, AIRE & WHARFE LEAGUE Under-11 Division C match, hosts BD5 led three times in the first half via Kye Robinson (2) and Murad Khan, only for Horton Hotshots to equalise every time.

The second half was much closer, with both sides spurning chances before Ini Ogumoye won it for BD5 late on by lashing in a loose ball.

It also ended up 4-3 in the HUDDERSFIELD RCD LEAGUE as third-from-bottom Bradford Park Avenue B triumphed at second-from-bottom Dewsbury Rangers C in Under-12 Division 5B.

Thomas Taylor, Brandon Emmett and Clark Bolton gave Avenue a 3-1 lead, only for Dewsbury to equalise before Nathan Hormer hit the visitors’ winner.

Bradford Warriors’ under-sevens Blue triumphed 8-1 against Drighlington, man of the match Alfie Gibson hitting a hat-trick to add to goals by Harry Coup (2), Luke Bateman (2) and Cale Gomersall, while Warriors’ newly-formed Whites team edged a 6-5 thriller against Ossett Town C thanks to Shy Moulden (2), Asher Smith (2), Junior Bottomley and Alfie Nunn, while Harley Hill-Hands was man of the match.

Warriors’ Blues under-eights sent West End Park packing 5-0 at Bradford Academy, with man of the match Bailey Dalby (2), Alfie Smith, Harry Varley and Harry Grievson on target, while Warriors under-nines revived with a 3-1 victory against Overthorpe, man of the match Donrique Davis (2) and Maison Strangeway netting.

Bradford Warriors needed a point at Rothwell to claim the Division 4B title and, although they made hard work of it, they more than got the job done with a 5-3 victory.

Roberto McFarlane (3) and Bailey Breaks (2) scored and Ben Cockroft was man of the match for a team whose target now is to remain unbeaten in their final two matches.
