Prospect Juniors and Bradford Tigers must have been glad they brought their top-of-the-table Keybury League clash forward by 24 hours given the weather the day after.

Many of the Tigers players were involved in a roller-blading party on the scheduled fixture date but it was they who got their skates on' first in the Under-Ten White Division clash at Apperley Bridge Playing Fields.

It seemed like Tigers were on the attack non-stop for 15 minutes but they were denied by fine goalkeeping from Dale Mitchell.

Jordan Clements' positioning was also spot on in the Tigers goal and half-time arrived with the score at 0-0 as both sides strove to maintain their unbeaten records.

Also both sides hit the woodwork but there was only one goal in the contest and it came five minutes from time when a short pass from Mitchell found defender Sam Falkingham out wide.

His pass found Prospect's player of the match, midfielder James Clapham, who neatly skipped past two Tigers defenders and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Tigers, for whom their man of the match, midfielder Luke Duckett, did not deserve to be on the losing side, pushed for the leveller but the defeat puts Prospect in pole position at the top.

Rosie McDonnell was a rock in defence for the Tigers, who may have to settle for chasing down Horsforth Reds for second place.

Bradford United switched their under-11s home match against Burley from grass to artificial grass at the Goals complex at Hanson School.

The move worked as United led 4-0 at half-time and, boosted by three goals in two minutes in the second half, went on to triumph 12-0.

Zak Davey, Jake Horsman, Joseph Fawcett and Jack O'Reilly all bagged hat-tricks as United stayed second in the division.

Bingley under-nines A continued their good run with a fine 3-1 win against Otley A.

Trailing at half-time, they fought back to equalise with a James Craven goal and snatched victory in the closing stages when Jack Dixon set up Craven for his second goal. The same players then combined for Dixon to make it 3-1.

Bingley under-nines B beat Otley B 1-0 in a hard-fought match. Sam Jewitt scored the only goal of the game with a terrific strike after a great piece of individual magic that keeps Bingley at the top of the table.

All three of Shipley's under-eight sides won for the second successive week.

Tom Halfyard scored five as Shipley Lions romped to an 11-1 victory at Horsforth Twisters. George Gomersall notched a hat-trick as did man of the match Myles Foley.

The goals were shared around more in Shipley Tigers' 5-2 triumph over Horsforth Tornadoes. Robbie Smith crowned a man-of-the-match display with a goal while Adam Christie, Nick Keating, George Love and Luke Gott also found the target.

Shipley Panthers had a tougher game at Horsforth Earthquakes but took their chances to win 3-2. James Stockdill scored a good solo goal and Robert Sorren added two more to his tally. Man of the match was Ethan Young.

BD3 United knocked out Sedbergh Stingers in the first round of the under-11 cup in the Craven League.

Man of the match Usman Khan scored a last-minute extra-time equaliser to take the game into a penalty shoot-out. United came out on top after a couple of fine saves from Mohammed Ifrar.

Farsley Celtic under-12s went down 3-2 at Horsforth in the Challenge Cup quarter-final in appalling conditions.

Playing against a gale force wind in the first half took its toll as Horsforth went 3-0 up thanks to two headers and a shot.

With the conditions in their favour after the break, Farsley tore into Horsforth. Man of the match Harry Stirk played a great ball to Luke Kitson, who beat his man comfortably and passed to James Cook.

He whipped over a great cross which Dominic Staunton lashed in for the goal of the game.

Farsley reduced the deficit further when a Horsforth defender under pressure headed into his own net. Celts threw the kitchen sink at their opponents but could not find the equaliser.

Bradford United's under-17s paid the penalty for failing to play for the opening 25 minutes and lost 4-1 at Brighouse in the Huddersfield League Cup.

Most of the goals conceded were avoidable but, given that they were 3-0 down after 25 minutes, they played better after that and scored through Paul Donnelly - the best goal of the game.
