BINGLEY St Ives have retained their Bradford Union Team Championship crown after victory by an emphatic 25-shot margin at Northcliffe.

Andy Town spearheaded the club's triumph which they hope will be the first part of a district double as they also head the Bradford Scratch League with two games to go.

He carded rounds of 70 and 69 to finish three under par, though Bracken Ghyll's Jack Lampkin stormed to the individual top score of eight under with two 67s.

Terry Brushwood (73,69), Rob Hillas (72, 72) and Darren Rands (76, 72) completed the job for St Ives, who will also challenge for the Yorkshire Championship - which they won in 2015 - at Headingley next week.

That gave them a combined five-over total of 573, with three teams all tied on 598 as Bradford claimed second place on a countback from Shipley and Baildon.

Woodhall Hills youngster Ben Rhodes was the only other individual to finish under par with rounds of 70, 71.
